Patchd Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 2, 2026
Bundle ID: com.granulab.patchd

This Privacy Policy explains how Patchd handles information when you use its audiovisual mini-apps, Studio tools, Re-Patch workflows, Photo Edit, and account features. Patchd is built around on-device creative processing: camera frames, imported media, face tracking, hand tracking, body tracking, and generated visuals are processed locally unless you explicitly save or export an output.

Who We Are

Patchd is published by Granulab. Our website is granulab.xyz. For privacy or support questions, contact info@granulab.xyz.

What Data Patchd Uses On Device

Camera input. Camera-based mini-apps use the live camera feed to detect faces, hands, bodies, objects, motion, text, edges, segmentation masks, and other visual inputs needed for audiovisual effects. Camera frames are processed on-device.

Photos and videos you choose. Photo Edit, Re-Patch, Compose, and related tools may use photos or videos you import from your library or files. Those media files are processed on-device to create the effect, preview, render, or export you requested.

Screen recording. Some camera FX mini-apps use Apple ReplayKit to record the visible Patchd preview when you start recording. Screen recording starts only after your action and Apple's system permission flow. Patchd does not upload screen recordings to Granulab. Recordings are saved locally or to Photos only when you choose to save or export them.

Face, hand, body, and segmentation data. Some features use Apple Vision, ARKit, AVFoundation, Core Image, or Metal outputs such as pose points, facial blend shapes, masks, depth-like effects, or recognition results. These values are generated locally while the feature is running and are used to drive the visual/audio experience.

TrueDepth camera and Face Data. On supported devices, Patchd may use Apple's front-facing TrueDepth camera and related Apple frameworks to generate Face Data such as face landmarks, face geometry or mesh-like information, facial coordinates, face pose, facial expression or mouth openness values, and depth-related face tracking values. Patchd uses this data only while a face-driven camera effect is running.

Creative content. Patchd does not upload your camera frames, imported photos, imported videos, rendered media, file names, audio, face data, hand tracking data, body tracking data, or creative outputs to Granulab as part of normal app use.

TrueDepth and Face Data

Patchd uses TrueDepth and Face Data only to provide the face-based creative features you choose to run, such as face detection, face patch effects, face depth-style visual effects, mouth or expression-controlled controls, masks, overlays, previews, and user-initiated renders or recordings.

TrueDepth and Face Data is processed locally on your device in real time. Granulab does not receive, collect, store, upload, or maintain a server-side copy of your Face Data, TrueDepth camera data, face geometry, face landmarks, facial expression values, or face tracking values as part of normal Patchd use.

Patchd does not use TrueDepth or Face Data to identify you, authenticate you, build a user profile, track you across apps or websites, provide advertising, perform marketing analytics, or infer sensitive personal attributes.

Patchd does not sell Face Data and does not share Face Data with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or third parties. Apple system frameworks process the data on device to provide the requested camera effect. If you choose to save, export, or share a video or image output, the saved output may visually include the effect you created, but it does not include the underlying TrueDepth data stream or raw Face Data.

Face Data is transient. It is used only while the relevant feature is active and is discarded after the live processing session, preview, render, or recording step ends. You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings, which prevents features that require camera or TrueDepth access from running.

Accounts, Notifications, and Diagnostics

Account authentication. The iOS build supports Sign in with Apple and Google sign-in. When you sign in, authentication identifiers and email addresses provided by Apple or Google may be processed so Patchd can create and maintain your account.

Account data. Patchd may store the email address connected to your sign-in, account identifier, user type, account status, and basic account metadata. Account storage is not used for your camera feed, imported media, rendered videos, rendered images, or creative project content unless a future feature clearly asks you to upload that content.

Push notifications. If you enable notifications, Patchd stores push notification tokens such as APNs and app messaging registration tokens so notifications can be delivered to your device.

Crash diagnostics. Patchd collects crash reports, stack traces, device and operating system information, app version, and app state needed to diagnose stability issues. Diagnostics may include breadcrumb logs that identify app actions before a crash.

No Google Analytics. Patchd does not use Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics to track app opens, screen views, feature usage, advertising activity, or marketing performance.

Service Providers

Patchd uses Google Firebase services for authentication infrastructure, lightweight account data storage, push notification delivery, and crash diagnostics. These providers process data on our behalf to operate, secure, and diagnose the app.

Network Requests and Third Parties

Patchd relies on Apple system frameworks such as Vision, ARKit, AVFoundation, Core Image, Photos, and Metal to provide on-device creative features.

Some optional app modes may fetch public online content, such as public Hacker News data or website content that you choose to load. The provider serving that content may receive your IP address and standard request metadata as part of normal internet traffic.

Optional Flow, network camera, local network, or web input workflows may communicate with services or devices you configure. Those workflows are controlled by your settings and the endpoints you choose.

How Data Is Stored and Shared

Granulab does not record, collect, or transmit your live camera feed just because you use Patchd. Camera frames, imported photos, imported videos, and tracking data stay on your device unless you explicitly export, save, share, or upload an output through a feature that tells you it will do so.

If you save an edited image, video, or output, it is stored where iOS stores the file or photo you chose to save, such as Photos or Files.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share your content with advertisers or data brokers.

Your Choices and Controls

You can control camera, microphone, photo library, local network, and notification permissions in iOS Settings at any time. If you do not grant a permission, features that depend on it may not work.

You can sign out from Profile. You can request account deletion inside Patchd from Profile > Account > Delete Account. This in-app flow deletes the Patchd account data Granulab controls for the signed-in account. You can also use the account deletion instructions at /patchd/account-deletion. You can also request privacy support by emailing info@granulab.xyz.

You can remove saved outputs from your Photos library or Files app using the standard controls on your device.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

Patchd keeps account data only while your account is active or while it is needed to provide account-based features, security, and support.

When you delete your account inside Patchd, Granulab deletes the Patchd account data it controls for that sign-in: email address, account identifier, user type, account status, and basic account metadata. After deletion, Granulab does not keep a Patchd account profile for that sign-in.

The account deletion flow does not remove media you saved locally to Photos, Files, or another location on your device. It also does not cancel, refund, or remove App Store purchase history because Apple manages App Store billing records, refunds, and purchase history.

A minimal deletion confirmation record may be kept only if needed to verify that the request was completed.

Children's Privacy

Patchd is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app.

Terms

Patchd terms are available at /terms/patchd.
